He married Charlotte North. She was born in 1847, in England. In 1910, she reported having had 3 children, 2 of whom were alive.

In 1880, he was living in the 15th ward, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Lottie, and children Bellac [?], Sadie, and James. He was a printer, but had been out of work for twelve months in the previous year. He had consumption. [source: 10]

On 23 May 1906, Charlotte's second husband, Hiram Fry, died, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a machinist, and was 52 years old (born in Reading, Pennsylvania); his former or usual residence (since 18 March 1895) was '12" Dist Pol Sta".
