On 10 September 1908, he again applied for a pension (11).
In 1910, he was living at 157 Carver Street, Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (10). He was a house carpenter (10). He had been out of work for 52 weeks in 1909 (10).
He died on 21 February 1913, at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (11). He was buried in St Peter's Cemetery, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania (12). (Find a Grave lists two St Peter's Cemeteries in Allegheny County.)
On 12 March 1915 [or 1913?], his widow, Catharine E Hilty, successfully applied from Pennsylvania for a pension (4).
