Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 8 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, dark b[lue?] eyes, and black hair (3).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service in company H of the 3rd New York Volunteer Infantry on 14 October 1861 (1, 3, 6). He was enlisted for three years, at Oneida County, New York, by Captain Pease (?) (3).

He was transferred to the 91st Pennsylvania by order (3). He was a private in company G of the 91st (1, 6).

He died on 25 April 1862 (or perhaps 26 April 1862), at Indiana Hospital, in Washington DC, of injuried received in a fall (1 [26 Apr], 2 [25 Apr], 3 [25 (?) Apr], 4 [1 Apr 1862]). He was a private, in company G (6). He was buried in the Military Asylum Cemetery (1).

After the war

On 20 February 1865, a minor dependent successfully applied for a pension, by guardian J W Fenton (5, 7).
