When he enlisted, he was a drayman (2).
When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 7-1/2 inches tall, and had a ruddy complexion, blue eyes, and red hair (2).
He was mustered into service for one year in the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 19 January 1865, at Easton, Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3, 5 [20 Aug 1862]). He was enlisted and mustered into service by Captain Yohe [?] (2). He served in companies D and K (4 [D+K], 5 [D]).
He was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry to the 91st PA, company E, on 2 June 1865 (1, 2, 3, 7, 8). He had received an advance bounty of $33.33, and was due $66.67 (2). He had drawn $56.33 in clothing since he enlisted (2). He had received no pay since enlisting (2).
He mustered out on 10 July 1865 with his company (1, 5 [28 May 1865]). He was a private, in company E (7, 8).
On 15 April 1863, he applied successfully for a pension (4, 6).
In 1890, he was living at 1517 North Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (5). He had been shot in the thigh (5).
He again applied for a pension on 16 February 1907 (4).
On 7 February 1916, he died (4, 9). The funeral was held on 10 February 1916, at his late residence, 862 North 22nd Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (9). He was buried in Monument Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (9).
His widow, Kate Huver, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension on 14 February 1916 (4, 6).
