On 23 March 1868, he married Rebecca Sill. She was born on 24 June 1841. This was her second marriage, and his first. She was first married to Peter Berkheimer (22 May 1834-19 Sep 1864), and had two children with him: Leah Berkheimer (b.25 July 1862) and Clelly Berkheimer (b.1863, PA). In 1870, he was living in St Clairsville Borough, Bedford County, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Rebecca, his son Milton, and two step-daughters. He was a huckster, and he owned $1,300 in real estate and $400 in personal property. [source: 10]
