He also served in the 124th Pennsylvania Infantry (9, 10). He enlisted on 1 August 1862 (9). He was discharged on 16 May 1863 (9).
He enlisted as a veteran volunteer and was mustered into service as a private in the 91st Pennsylvania on 27 January 1864 at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 6, 7, 8, 9). (He was entitled to enlist as a veteran because of his prior service; see general orders, number 216, 14 July 1863, Washington DC, Adjutant General's Office.) He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Burk (6). He was a private, in company A (1, 11).
