He immigrated to the United States in 1860 (7). He was naturalized by 1900 (7).

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 4 inches tall, and had a light complexion, grey eyes, and light hair (4).

During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 4 February 1864 (1, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Lieutenant Boorke (4). He was mustered in as a private in company H (1, 9).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1). He was a private, in company H (9).

After the war

In 1874/1875, he married Bridget [unknown family name] (7). In 1900, she had had 2 children, both of whom were alive (7). In 1910, she had had 2 children, one of whom was alive (8).

On 5 April 1888, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (5, 6).

In 1900, he was living on Fall Street, Ashley Borough, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania (7). He was living with his wife Bridget and daughters Mary and Margaret (7). He was not working (7).

He died on 18 April 1904 (5).

On 10 June [?] 1904, his widow, Bridget Kane, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (5, 6).

In 1910, his widow, Bridget Kane, was living at 47 Fall Street, Ashley Borough, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania (8). She was living with her daughter Mary (8).
