According to the pension index card, he also served in company 113 battalion 2, veterans' reserve corps (3, 10). But the index to the compiled service records doesn't mention that (16).
In 1870, he was living in Oxford Township, Adams County, Pennsylvania (7). He was living with his parents Henry and Mary Kuhn, and with Lewis, Amelia, Frank, and William Kuhn (7). He seems to have been a stone mason (7).
In 1873/75, he married Sadie Cole (4, 8, 12). In 1900 and 1910, she had had 5 children, 3 of whom were alive (8, 12).
On 20 May 1885, he applied successfully for a pension (3, 13).
They moved to Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, about 1886 (4, 5).
In 1900, he was living at 864 North Sixth Street, 13th ward, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (12). He was living with his son Louis and Louis's wife Maggie, with his wife Sarah, and his chilren John and Nellie (12). He was a bricklayer (12).
In 1910, he was living at 854 Chelten Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (8). He was living with his wife Sarah and children John and Nellie (8). He was a timekeeper for the city (8).
He had "a stroke of paralysis" about 1912 (4, 5).
He died in Germantown, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on Thursday, 4 May 1916, of effects of his paralysis (4, 5, 13). The funeral was held in Philadelphia on 13 May 1916 [possibly 6 May] (4). He was a mason (4, 5). He was buried in Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (5).
On 19 May 1916, his widow, Sarah E Kuhn, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (3, 10).
In 1920, his widow, Sarah Kuhn, was living at 854 Chelten Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (9). She was living with her son John, her daughter Nellie, and Nellie's family (9).

Henry M. Kuhn, formerly of this county, died at his home in Germantown, Philadelphia, on Thursday, aged about 72 years. Death resulted from the effects of a stroke of paralysis received four years ago.
He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry J. Kuhn and was born at Irishtown. About 30 years ago the family moved to Germantown where they have since resided. He was a mason by trade.
He is survived by a widow, formerly Miss Sadie Cole, of Buchanan Valley; one daughter, Mrs. Nellie Blieller, and two sons, Lewis and John B. Kuhn, of Germantown. A sister, Mrs. S. A. Smith, of Irishtown, and two brothers, F. X. Kuhn and Lewis I. Kuhn, of Hanover, also survive.
The funeral was held in Philadelphia Saturday.
