He was a substitute (1). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 22 March 1865 (1, 2, 5). He was enlisted for one year, at Hollidaysburg, Pennsylvania, by Captain Lloyd (2). He was a private in company C (1, 6, 8).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1, 5). He was a private, in company C (8).

After the war

In 1890, he was living in ward 6 of Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania (3).

On 5 October 1892, he applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (4, 5).

On 23 March 1908, he again applied for a pension (5).

On 31 October 1934, he died, in Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania (6, 7). He was buried in St John's Cemetery, Altoona, Blair County, Pennsylvania (6).
