During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 29 October 1861 (1, 3). He was enlisted at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Casner (3). He was mustered in as a private in company K, by Lieutenant Francis Gregory (1, 3, 4, 5).

He died on 26 April 1862 of drowning, at Alexandria, Virginia (1, 2). He was a private, in company K (4, 5).
