He was promoted to corporal on 3 December 1861 (2).

He was discharged at camp near Sharpsburg, Maryland, on 5 or 15 October 1862 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1 [15 Oct], 3 [5 Oct]). He was a corporal, in company K (1, 5).
