In 1860, he was living in ward 16, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was living with his wife Elisabeth, and children John, Samuel, George, Clara, and Henry. He was a morocco dresser. [source: 15]
When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 8-1/2 inches tall, and had a fair complexion, grey eyes, and sandy hair. He was freckled. [source: 5]

In 1900, he was living at 1 Rifton Place, ward 16, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was a morocco worker. He had been out of work for 10 months in the previous year. He was living with his wife Eliza and son George. [source: 10]
On 24 March 1901, he died, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, of paralysis of bladder. He was a morocco worker. He died at rear 946 North 3rd Street, ward 16, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On 27 March 1901, he was buried, initially in St John's ME Church Vault, and then in North Cedar Hill Cemetery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On 30 April [?] 1909 [??--presumably earlier], his widow, Eliza Pomeroy, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension. [sources: 8, 12]
On 20 February 1909, his widow, Elizie Pomroy, died, of myocarditis. She died at, and lived at, 946 North 3rd Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
