William R Price

Before the war

He was born on 3 December 1836 (5, 9; 3 (28 in 1863), 5 [63 in 1900], 6 [73 in 1910]). He was born in Pennsylvania (5, 6).

In 1860/61, he married Annie [unknown family name] (5, 6). In 1900 and 1910, she had had 8 children, 7 of whom were alive (5, 6).

During the war

He was drafted (1, 2, 3). He was mustered into service as a private in the 118th Pennsylvania Infantry on 28 September 1863 at Easton, Pennsylvania (1, 2 [20 Sep], 3 [28 Sep], 4). He served as a private in company A of the 118th Pennsylvania (2, 4, 10).

On 2 June 1865, he was transferred from the 118th Pennsylvania to company F of the 91st Pennsylvania (1, 2, 3 [1 June]). He was a private in company F of the 91st (1, 10).

He was absent, sick, when the regiment mustered out (1, 3). He was a private, in company F (10).

After the war

On 2 September 1879, he successfully applied for a pension (4).

In 1890, he was living in Barrett, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (Mountain Home) (8).

In 1900, he was living in Barrett Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (5). He was living with his wife Annie, daughter Mollie, son Thomas, and daughter Lizzie Dickens [?] and her family (5). He was a day laborer, and had been out of work for three months in the previous year (5).

On 19 February 1907, he again applied for a pension (4).

In 1910, he was living in Barrett Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (6). He was living with his wife Annie and children Elmer and Mary (6). He was not working (6).

His wife, Anna Price, died on 8 April 1919 (9). She was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Mountainhome, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (9).

In 1920, he was living in Barrett Township, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (7). He was living with his daughter Mary and brother Canneday (7). He was not working (7).

He died on 5 November 1926, at Mountainhome, Pennsylvania (4, 9). He was buried in Oakland Cemetery, Mountainhome, Monroe County, Pennsylvania (9).
