Before the war

Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 7 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, hazel eyes, and dark hair (3).

During the war

He also served in Warren's Company, of the Pennsylvania Cavalry (4, 10).

He was a substitute for T Neely (1, 3). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 22 March 1865 (1, 3, 10). He was enlisted for one year, at Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, by Captain Eyster (3). His service was credited to the 16th Congressional District (3). He was a private in company G (1, 11).

He received clothing worth $41.05 (3).

He was discharged by general order on 13 July 1865 (1, 2 ["no discharge given"], 10 [10 July]). He was a private, in company G (11).

After the war

In 1868/69, he married Annie [unknown family name] (6, 7 [32 ? years in 1900]). In 1900, she had had eight children, seven of whom were alive (7). In 1910, she had had eight children, six of whom were alive (6).

In 1870, he was living in Malinda [??] Township, Carroll County, Missouri (9). He was a farmer, and owned $1,000 in real estate and $400 in personal property (9). He was living with his wife Ann and son Willis (9).

In 1880, he was living in Beatty Township, Carroll County, Missouri (8). He was a farmer (8). He was living with his wife Annie, and his children Willis, Ira, Elmer, and Emma (8).

On 15 July 1891, he applied successfully from Missouri for a pension (4, 10).

In 1900, he was living in Trotter Township, Carroll County, Missouri (7). He was a farmer (7). He was living with his wife Annie, his daughters Olida [?], Catharine, and Meg, and an employee (7).

On 12 December 1907, he again applied for a pension (10).

In 1910, he was living in Carroll County, Missouri (6). He was a farmer (6). He was living with his wife Annie (6).

In 1920, he was living in Trotter Township, Carroll County, Missouri (5). He was a farmer, on a general farm (5). He was a widower (5).

He died on 1 June 1929 at Carrolton, Missouri (10).
