His descriptive list was forwarded to the surgeon in charge of Campbell Hospital. [source: 3]

He was discharged at Campbell US Hospital, Washington, DC, because of disability, in compliance with paragraph 6 of general order 77, War Department, 28 April 1865, and telegram, Adjutant General's Office, 3 May 1865.
