Description

When he enlisted, he was 5 feet 9 inches tall, and had a dark complexion, grey eyes, and black hair (2).

During the war

He was drafted from Gwynedd, Pennsylvania (1, 2). He enlisted and was mustered into service on 2 March 1865 (1, 2). He was enlisted for one year, at Norristown, Pennsylvania, by Captain Yerkes (2). His service was credited to the Sixth Congressional District (2). He was a private in company G (1, 9).

He received clothing worth $36.82 (2).

He mustered out with his company on 10 July 1865 (1). He was a private, in company G (9).

After the war

He married Elizabeth [unknown family name] (4). They had two children:

In 1870, he was living in Towamensing Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania (6). He was living with his wife Elizabeth and children Markley and Howard (6). He was a stone mason, and owned $2,000 in real estate and $580 in personal property (6).

On 29 February 1888, his widow, Elizabeth Weber, applied successfully from Pennsylvania for a pension (3, 7).
