During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 26 December 1861 (1, 3, 4). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Casner (3). He was mustered in as a private in company K, by Captain Casner (1, 3, 5).

He was discharged at Falmouth, Virginia, on 19 January 1863 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 2, 4). He was a private, in company K (5).

After the war

On 28 January 1863, he applied unsuccessfully for a pension (4).
