During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service on 10 December 1861 (1, 5). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Casner (5). He was mustered in as a private in company K, by Captain Casner (1, 5, 6-7).

He was sent to the division hospital on 17 March 1863 (2).

He was discharged at camp near Falmouth, Virginia, on 5 April 1864 on surgeon's certificate of disability (1, 3, 4). He was a private, in company K (6-7).
