During the war

He enlisted and was mustered into service as a private on 15 January 1864, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (1, 3, 4, 5). He was enlisted for three years, at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, by Captain Stretch (?) (3, 5). He was mustered by Captain Stretch (3, 5). He was due $300 in bounty, and may have been paid $21.97 (3, 5). He was a private in company B (1, 8).

He was wounded on 18 June 1864 at Petersburg, Virginia (1, 4, 5).
