ALBRITTON-BRUTON-HARDEE-KILPATRICK
FAMILY PICTURES

(standing) Frances Albritton b. 17 May 1863-Contentnea District, Lenoir Co., N.C.---The next is Fannie Albritton BRUTON
(seated woman-unknown)

James Henry BRUTON, b. 3 Feb. 1860---James Henry BRUTON- husband of Fannie ALBRITTON

This one is from a tintype that is framed exactly like the one of James Henry Bruton as a child. It has no identification, but I suspect it could be his mother--Julia Kilpatrick Bruton? She was born April 26, 1834 and died April 3, 1912. I believe after her husband Jesse P. Bruton was killed in the Civil War she later married a Frank Braxton.

These three pictures are of my grandfather Oren Albritton Bruton b. Aug 10 1894 d. Oct 3, 1951. He was the son of James Henry Bruton and Fannie Albritton. He worked as a mail carrier in Kinston.

This is my grandmother Flora Eliza Ervin Bruton. b. Oct 27, 1897 in Onslow County d. Nov 11, 1978 in Kinston. She was the wife of Oren Albritton Bruton.

This one is on a cabinet card--I cannot identify her but believe she must be Harriet Elizabeth Hardee b. Aug 2, 1830.

Here is the last of the tintypes--it is not identified. It looks as though he is wearing a military uniform of some kind even though he is very young. It would be unlikely that it is someone from outside the family. If we could somehow place the uniform and date the picture I would have a better idea of who it might be, but I don't know anything about uniforms and this one is not very clear. My father is Henry Bruton, son of Flora and Oren. He grew up in Kinston. Please feel free to contact me anytime with questions (or answers!)
