Will of Overstreet W. Crowder

 

The State of Texas

County of Comanche In the name of God, Amen.

I, O. W. Crowder, of the town and county of Comanche and state of Texas being of a sound mind and memory and considering the uncertainty of this frail and transitory life do therefore make and ordain publish and declare this is to be my last will and testament that is to say first after all my lawful debts are paid and discharged the residue of my estate real and personal I give bequeath and dispose of as follows. To my beloved wife for her use and benefit during her natural life or widowhood all my property personal or real for her use and disposal to educate and raise her five minor children as follows - Henry M. Crowder, Frances C. E. Crowder, Sarah Ann L. Crowder, Overstreet M. Crowder and Rachel M. Crowder and I further ordain and will that if my wife should marry then all our property personally and real shall be applied exclusively to the use and benefit of her five minor heirs above named and I further ordain if my wife should remain a widow until her minor heirs should all become of age she then may so dispose of the remaining property as in her judgement seems just and equal and I further will and bequeath to my son William G. Crowder one hundred acres of land taken from the tract of land known as the William Bird tract situated in Upshur County -State of Texas - and I also will and bequeath to Charles W. Jones my son in law one yoke of oxen this January 12th, 1866.

The State of Texas. Before me J. E. Williams, clerk of the County of Comanche County Court of Comanche County - personally appeared G. W. Montgomery who after being sworn by me in our course flow says that he saw the said O. W. Crowder sign and deliver the fore going and within instrument and acknowledged that he done so for the uses purposes and considerations therein stated.
