Key to Victor Cemetery Maps
All maps follow the standard north-south orientation. Red or pink rectangle labeled Unknown – Unidentified or unmarked grave Blue across tombstone area – occupied grave Yellow across tombstone area – reserved gravesite Green circles – trees and shrubs Orange lines and rectangles – curbs, benches, flagpole Rectangle outlined in black & empty except for number – available gravesite
Available gravesites outside of curbs are 5’ by 12’. Available gravesites inside curbs are 4’ by 8’ or larger. Grid marks ¼ inch = 1 foot. In some areas there are spaces large enough for burials, but smaller than the standard 5’ by 12’. Those areas were not marked, but individuals can use them if they choose, and a grave number can be assigned. Grave numbers include a number-letter-number. The first number is the Section or Map number. The letter refers to the row. Rows run north to south, beginning with ‘A’ on the west side and continuing to EE on the east side, making a total of 31 rows. The second number refers to the grave number in that row. Numbers start with 1 on the north side proceeding to 94 on the south, with many numbers deliberately omitted. Because of the helter-skelter method of burials in the past, sequentially numbered graves are often not found side-by-side.
