                        A mountain stream,

                    It flows bubbling,

                Surrounded by life,

            The center

                Of its universe.

                    All else

                        Depends

                            On that stream.

                                Beasts

                            And soft creatures

                        Live near,

                    Afraid

                Of the desert

            Beyond.

                Life flows

                    Freely,

                As water

                       To lily,

                            For coyote,

                                And on,

                                    Foreboding,

                                    To city

                                    Beyond,

                                    To be free

                                    No more.
