Pergamum, Turkey

Red Basilica, an ancient church complex listed in Revelations as one of the 7 churches of the Apocalypse.

                       

The ancient city of Pergamum sits atop a high hill.  City walls are still solid.

Silk is unrolled from silk cocoons.  About 50 strands of silk are
spun into each thread.  Threads are then woven into valuable silk Turkish carpets.
