Patsy Ashton Griffith. My maternal grandmother was Lue Anna Honea and her sister was Georgia Alice Honea (who married Enethels Fountain Pair). Lue and Georgia's parents were William Harrison Honea (Honey) and Temperance Ann Lemons. I am trying to find someone who might have information on them. On the Ancestry Community message boards, Georgia Sue Crockett Crowe has responded to messages concerning Harrison & Temperance Lemons. I have been unable to contact her and wonder if you know how to contact her or anyone in Georgia Alice (Honea) Pair's family who might have information about Harrison and Temperance. I would appreciate any information you could give me. Thanks for your help. ~Patsy Ashton Griffith.......contact at =[email protected]
Mary [email protected] I am looking for any information on Leandre Pare/Perry. He states on his marriage intentions that he was born in Canada, he was 21 years old in 1871, when he married Helene Lemire (Moise Lemire x Therese Raymond) in Manchester, New Hampshire. He says his fathers name is Lecladie and mother is Mary no last names. He was married under the name Perry St. Ann's church, but his death certificate and death notice all say Leandre Pare. His children were all named Perry, but the grandchildren all reverted back to Pare. If anyone would have any further information I would greatly appreciate their help. Thank you.

My gggrandfather, Moses Blackson or Blocksome, put his wife, Nancy Pare and children, William and Elizabeth on a boat for Cincinnati around 1800. The plan was that he would follow from lower Delaware with the cart, oxen and money. Instead he came to southern New Jersey (then known as the land of the thieves and the pirates), married my gggrandmother, Tabitha Peterson, in 1816. They had nine children. Moses, the father, confided in Moses, the son, and he in turn told his nephew, Rev. Charles Williams. Rev. Williams wrote every thing down and I have copies given to me by Rev. Williams daughter. I would like to find out more about the story! All of the Blocksome records end abruptly with Moses' name. Don Ingram [email protected] For some time I have been trying to find information about my grandfather's family. All that I know for sure is that his name was Alexander Paree [which may have been Pare]. He was born in France in l867 and came to US in l870's. Old folks have told me that he had a sister [name unknown] who eventually migrated to Calif. This, of course, may not have happened. As for the rest of his family, I remain ignorant. My hope is that I might find someone who has a missing Alexander in their family tree.

Joanne Haley [email protected] Elizabeth was born around 1765 we believe in Va. Her Middle initial was F. and it could of been Parr or Pair. She died on 7-10-1850 in Franklin Co.Ga. She married James R. Haley (Hailey) in Orange Co. Va. This is what we were told. Some say it was written up Jack Haley but we have never been able to find it. Some say her Father was either Robert or William and the Mother's last name was Christian. Or it could of been her first. I have never been able to find a Robert Parr. Would you have anything on a Robert or a William or Elizabeth who married a Haley? I found where a Henry Parr was in Franklin Co.Ga. 1790-1830 also a Marcus Parr. There were also a William and Arthur and Mathew and John in Franklin Co.Ga. but we can't fit them with Elizabeth. Would love to read the book on the Pair in Va. People back then spelled them two ways just like Haleys.

Elaine [email protected] I have a grandma named Annie Pear, but when I started digging, I learned that my grandmother was really Anna Hruska, a Bohemian immigrant in abt. 1868.
Elayne: I suggested Elaine find out what Hruska means in Bohemian, and her answer is one we can all learn from.
Elaine: A visiting Czech student wrote me that Hruska translates directly into Pear and that Peary may refer to the feminine of Pear as does Hruskova to Hruska as used by Czech women. My family is from Chicago, having migrated there from Bohemia. I found the wedding of my grandparents in August 1879 at St. John Nepomucene Roman Catholic Church in Chicago. Anna Hruska married Michael Slepicka. The Slepicka name loosely translated to hen in Czech and my grandfather's family was also known as Chicken. My father actually legally changed his name to Chicken. I am digging through information trying to connect with the Hruska and Slepicka families in Chicago. If you have any information, I would be forever grateful.
