Mrs. Sarah Pair was born in Hawkins Co. Tn. Oct 14, 1822. When 16 years
old she professed faith in our savior was received into the fellowship of a
Baptist Church and continued faithful to her Lord and her church for seventy
years. In 1939 she was united in marriage with James F. Pair and in the
following year they moved to Kentucky, where they reared a family of 9 children.
Mr. Pair was a Baptist minister, but was called to his reward in 1863 and the
cares of a large family were left to Mrs. Pair. She moved to Texas in 1885 and
stopped for a short while in Van Alstyne and then moved to McKinney, where she
afterward made her home. Of her children only two survive her, Andrew W. Pair of
Anna and Fountain Pair of McKinney, but she had 35 grandchildren, 55 great
grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Some months since, she went up to
Anna to spend a time with her son and other relatives, and there on Tuesday,
March 16, the angels came for her and she went away on their "snowy wings" to
the heavenly home. On the next day her body was tenderly laid to rest in the
beautiful Pecan Grove Cemetery at McKinney to await the resurrection of the
just. At the time of her death she was a member of the First Baptist Church of
McKinney and her pastor, Dr. E. E. King, conducted appropriate funeral services.

Bessie M. Pair, 79, died at 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 10, 1983, at De Leon Nursing Home after a long illness. Services were at 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday at First United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Basham, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Dublin, officiated,
assisted by the Rev. Charles McAfee, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of De Leon. Burial was in De Leon Cemetery, directed by
Nowlin Funeral Home. Born May 19, 1904, in Comanche County, she was a housewife. She married Claude Pair Dec. 30, 1923, in Saint Joe. She
was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Fayne of De Leon and Arnold of Fort Worth; one
daughter, Barbara Atchison of Fort Worth; four brothers, Jack Locke of De Leon, Rush and Joyce Locke of Odessa, and A. A. Locke of
Brownwood; two Levis Miller and Grace Gray, both of De Leon; eight grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in
death by four brothers, Haskell, Byron, and Kenneth Locke and O. P. McAdams; and two sisters, Clarice Covington and Ouida Locke.
Pallbearers were Woodley Sadberry, Marvin Jones, Charles Nabors, Coy Otwell, Johnny Chupp, and Darrel Kimmell. Music was by the
Methodist Choir, directed by C. G. Morton.

Claude Pair
Claude Pair, 93, of De Leon passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 1992, at 4:40 a.m. in the De Leon Hospital. He was born March 19, 1899, in
Jackson, Missouri to the late Robert Lee Pair and Laura Isabell Limbaugh Pair. He moved to the De Leon area in 1911, moving into De Leon in
1967. He was married to Bessie McAdams December 30, 1923. She preceded him in death October 10, 1983. He was a retired farmer and a
member of the De Leon First United Methodist Church where his funeral services were held Thursday, June 4, 1992, at 4:00 p.m. with Dr. John
Fourie officiating. Survivors include two sons, Dwight Fayne Pair of De Leon, Arnold Dwayne Pair of Fort Worth; one daughter, Barbara
Atchison of Ft. Worth; one sister, Mary Pair Pilcher of De Leon; eight grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Albert Pair, Ernest Pair, and Duree Pair. Burial was in the De Leon Cemetery under the direction of
Nowlin Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Melton Decker, James Gardner, Coy Otwell, Charles Nabors, Marvin Jones, and Johnnie Chupp and
several honorary pallbearers. Music was furnished by the church choir under the direction of Annette Cummings with a solo by Dottie Hare
with Nelda Priddy serving as organist.

John M. Pair passes away at 84. A letter from R. L. Pair, De Leon, Texas, informs us of the death of his father John M. Pair at his home at
Dublin, Texas, on December 29, 1915, of pneumonia and heart trouble. He was born in Kentucky July 8, 1831; moved to Bollinger Co., Mo., in
1853. Here he resided until 1902 and reared a large family. When the war broke out he cast his lot with the Confederacy and he is said to have been a splendid soldier. After the war - having lost about
all of his property - he went to work to retrieve his broken fortunes. Settling a few miles south of Sedgewickville he hewed out of the forest a
good farm and home. He was an industrious, progressive farmer, a clever, obliging neighbor and a good citizen. He was a charter member of
Sedgewickville lodge, No. 426, A. F. & A. M. and was in good standing when the charter was surrendered.
He sold his property and moved to Dublin, Tex. in 1902. He was growing old then and he had been quite feeble the last several years.
Deceased was married twice and was the father of 17 children, seven of whom survive him: John F. of Oklahoma; Mrs. Ed Green, Dublin;
Robt.
L., De Leon; Silas W., Jarrell, Texas; Mrs. Wm. Faircloth, Patton, Mo.; Lowndes D., Strawn; Archie M., Dublin; Grover C. and Laura C., Dallas,
and Clayborn B. of Greenville, Texas. He is survived by forty-five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren.
The funeral was conducted the 30th at Green’s Creek Cemetery, five miles from Dublin.
Mr. Pair had many relatives and friends in Bollinger county who will be sorry to learn of his death.

Roy V. Pair, 56, a former Amarillo resident, of Cordova, Tenn., died Wednesday, Feb. 3, 1999. Services will be at 4 p.m. today in St. Paul United Methodist Church with the Rev. John McClean, senior pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2820 Virginia Circle. Mr. Pair was born in Houston and was a longtime Amarillo resident. He graduated from Tascosa High School and then West Texas State University in 1967. He was an Army veteran. Mr. Price was a co-owner of Fantastic Sam's in Germantown, Tenn. He was a former transportation management employee with Ford Motor Co., and Oster/Sunbeam and Cleo in Memphis, Tenn. He was a member of the Germantown Area Chamber of Commerce and of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Amarillo. Survivors include his wife, Sonja; a daughter, Patricia Diane Pair of Memphis, Tenn.; a son, Tom Pair of Atlanta, Ga.; his parents, Gerald Dean and William Luther Pair of Amarillo; a brother, William Wayne Pair of Amarillo; and a grandson.

J. B. Pair, 82, of Amarillo, died Monday, Aug. 14, 2000. Graveside
services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Llano Cemetery with the Rev. Greg
Waggoner, pastor of Bible Baptist Temple, officiating. Arrangements are by
Rector Funeral Home, 2800 S. Osage St. Mr. Pair was born in Happy and was a
longtime resident of Amarillo. He was a truck driver for Bob Blair Cattle
Trucking, Benton Cattle Trucking and Alford Trucking. After retiring he worked
as a school crossing guard. He was a Baptist. He married Virginia Bennett in
1938 at Canyon. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Sharon Dickson of
Amarillo and Beverly Salazar and Tracy Pair, both of Canon City, Colo.; a
sister, Sue Ann Marler of Hallsville; a brother, Kenneth Pair of Amarillo; 12
grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

Tommie Prince, 67, of Amarillo, died Friday, July 11,
1997. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of
Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Windell Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Prince was born in Erick, Okla. He married
Edna M. Grantham in 1968 at Hereford. He was the owner and operator of Vega Well
Service before retiring in 1989. He was an Army veteran and a member of the
American Legion in Vega. Survivors include his wife; a son, Henry Craig of
Amarillo; a daughter, Vera Craig of Amarillo; two sisters, Lea Pair and Minnie
King, both of Amarillo; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Thomas Earl Wilson, 89, of Amarillo, died Friday, April
25, 1997. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Boxwell Brothers Funeral
Directors Ivy Chapel, 2820 Virginia Circle, with the Rev. Royce Womack, retired
United Methodist minister, and Dr. Harold Daniel, associate pastor of Polk
Street United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery
with military rites by Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 26. Mr. Wilson was
born in Bangs. He had been a resident of Amarillo since 1951. He served with the
36th Infantry Division of the Army during World War II. He worked for the Texas
Department of Transportation for 43 years, retiring as a safety engineer in
1973. He was a life member of the Brownwood Masonic Lodge and was a member of
San Jacinto United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Ruby Wilson; a
son, Tim Wilson of Amarillo; three daughters, Sonya Pair of Memphis, Tenn.,
Becky Wilson of Spokane, Wash., and Diane Falk of San Antonio; a sister, Joan
Spich of Brownwood; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandson. The family
requests memorials in lieu of flowers be to San Jacinto United Methodist Church,
505 S. Tennessee St., Amarillo, Texas 79106 or to the Scottish Rite Hospital,
2201 Welborn, Dallas, Texas 75219.

PLAINVIEW - Ray Jack James, 78, died Tuesday, Jan. 6,
1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the First Baptist Church sanctuary
with Dr. Travis Hart, pastor, and Dr. Roy McClung, president emeritus of Wayland
Baptist University, officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Memorial Park by
Lemons Funeral Home. Mr. James was born in Stratford, Okla., and grew up in
Grandview and Littlefield. He moved to Littlefield in 1924 and graduated from
Littlefield High School. He was engaged in farming. Mr. James served in the Navy
in 1945. In 1949, he moved to Plainview and continued to farm until 1983. He had
been co-owner of Larson Turner Implement Co. since 1964. He served on the
Central Plains Regional Hospital Board from 1968 until 1977. He was a member of
First Baptist Church and the Formby Sunday School class. He married Lillian
Carpenter in 1938 at Roswell, N.M. Survivors include his wife; two daughters,
Judy Evans and Kay Shannon, both of Plainview; three sons, Jerry James, Rickey
James and Tommy James, all of Plainview; a brother, J.D. James of Plainview;
four sisters, Mary McCarty of Edmonson, and Helen Pair, Joyce McBride and Faye
Gaston, all of Plainview; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

PERRYTON - Ina M. Bryan, 71, died Thursday, Oct. 15,
1998. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Church of Christ with J. A. Farber,
her brother and minister of Church of Christ in Cyril, officiating. Burial will
be in Ochiltree Cemetery by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home. Mrs. Bryan was born
in Pernell and moved to Perryton in 1959 from Pampa. For 20 years, she was
employed as a nurse. She also worked at the Fabric Mart for more than 10 years
and for her son at his business for the past 31/2 years. She married Harvey D.
Bryan in 1946 at Beckham County. He died in 1975. Survivors include a daughter,
Peggy Gillum of Chelsea; three sons, Jerry Bryan, Jackie Bryan and Steven Bryan,
all of Perryton; three sisters, Geraldine Tyson of Sayre, Okla., Norma Jean
McMahon of Shamrock, and Patricia Pair of Eric, Okla.; two brothers, Hershel
Farber of Pampa and J.A. Farber of Cyril; 11 grandchildren; and 18
great-grandchildren.

CLARENDON - Jeanne J. McDonald Barnes, 79, died Friday,
July 16, 1999. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in First United Presbyterian
Church with the Rev. Smiley Johnson, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in
Citizens Cemetery by Robertson Funeral Directors. Mrs. Barnes was born in
Clarendon, graduated as valedictorian from Clarendon High School in 1937, with
honors from Clarendon Junior College in 1939 and with a bachelor's degree in
journalism from Texas Tech in 1941. She was a reporter for The Clarendon News;
Pampa Leader; Kilgore News-Herald; Marshall News Messenger; and the Fort Worth
Press. She worked at the Dallas Morning News from 1958-77. She also worked at
the Houston Chronicle; the San Antonio Express-News; and the San Antonio Light.
Mrs. Barnes received awards for her furniture reporting. From 1977-82, she was
the Southwest reporter for Designers West, Residential Interiors and Furniture
Today. She was a consultant in establishing Texas Homes, Dallas Fort Worth Home
and Garden and Austin Home and Garden. From 1983-95, she was furniture reporter
and consultant of Retailer and Marketing News. She was a charter member of Theta
Sigma Phi at Texas Tech and an officer for the Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio
and Dallas chapters. She was also a charter member of Southwest Chapter, IFDA, a
press member of the American Society of Interior Designers from 1952-96. She was
a member of the Presbyterian church. Survivors include two sisters, Myrne M.
Altendorf of Amarillo and Janice J. Pair of Lubbock.

FORT WORTH - Ruth M. Kayler, 76, died Saturday, May 15,
1999. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today in Oakhill Presbyterian Church in Fort
Worth. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Citizens Cemetery in Clarendon by
Moore Funeral Home of Arlington. Mrs. Kayler was born in Clarendon. She was a
retired secretary and WAVE. She was a member of Oakhill Presbyterian Church,
Daughters of American Revolution and DCW. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Edwin L. Kayler. Survivors include three sisters, Jeanne J. Barnes,
Janice J. Pair and Dorothy M. Altendorf.

Raymond N. Frisbie, 80, of Amarillo, died Thursday,
April 22, 1999. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in N. S. Griggs & Sons Funeral
Directors, Pioneer Chapel, 2615 Paramount Blvd., with Dr. Larry Payne of Coulter
Road Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mr. Frisbie
was born in San Antonio and served in the Army as a corporal during World War
II. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, American Defense Service Medal, and a
ribbon with a silver service star and a bronze service star. For 15 years, he
played in the Ray Frisbie and the Lone Star Country and Western Playboys band.
Mr. Frisbie was a wrecker driver for several Amarillo businesses. He retired
from Ray Jones Chevrolet. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and the
Coulter Road Baptist Church for 10 years. He married Lucille Turner in 1945 at
Plainview. Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Rose Chapman of Amarillo; a
brother, Roy Frisbie of Amarillo; two sisters, Dorothy Turner of Fritch and
Edith Pair of Amarillo; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

FRITCH - Dorothy Turner, 75, died Thursday, March 9,

Mrs. Turner was born in Lone Wolf, Okla., and had lived in Fritch since 1982.
She was a Baptist and retired manager of Double Diamond Inc. She married Bluford
Turner in 1942 at Amarillo. Survivors include her husband; a son, Wayne Turner
of Amarillo; two daughters, Linda Garrett of Amarillo and Betty Kelley of Big
Spring; a brother, Roy Frisbie of Amarillo; a sister, Edith Pair of Amarillo; 14

Sue Ann Marler, 65, died Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001, in Hallsville. Services will
be at 2 p.m. Saturday in Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Memorial Chapel,
Fifth Avenue and Pierce Street. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Mrs. Marler was
born in Amarillo and was a lifelong resident. She graduated from Amarillo High
School. She moved to Hallsville two years ago. She was a member of the Buchanan
Street Baptist Church. Mrs. Marler was preceded in death by her husband, Quinlin
Joe Marler, in 1963; and by a son, Kenneth Joe Marler, in 1975. Survivors
include three daughters, Mystie McAlister and Alisa Dompe, both of Hallsville,
and Anita Groomer of Dallas; four sons, Randy McGee, Jerry Marler and Michael
Dale Marler, all of Amarillo, and Charles Lynn Marler of Damascus, Md.; a
brother, Kenneth Don Pair of Amarillo; and eight grandchildren.

Dorothy Mae Coker, 77, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 in Wichita Falls. The funeral service was conducted at 10 mm, Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at the chapel of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls with Rev. Chuck Schobert officiating. Interment followed in Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Owens & Brumley Funeral Home of Wichita Falls.
Dorothy was born August 12, 1931, in Edcouch, Texas, to the late Cleveland Leo and Bessie Leona (Pair) Creek. On August 19, 1963, she married Elbert Grey Coker. He preceded her in death September 15, 1991. Dorothy was a homemaker and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was also preceded in death by her brother, C. I. Creek, two sisters, Sugar Thomas, and Lorena Creamer, and two grandchildren, Alan Spangler, and Christy LaShauri. She is survived by seven children, Terri L Katraman and husband Clyde of Wichita Falls, Lydia Marton and husband Jerry of Fort Worth, Johnnie Porter and husband Russ of Shepherdstown, West Virginia, Gary Coker and wife Karen of Wichita Falls, Vallerie Peterson and husband Chuck of Reno, Nevada, Diane Justice and husband Ben of Bridge City, and Cindy Dotson and husband James of Nederland, thirteen grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; two nieces Joyce Hudson and husband Gilbert, and Judy Schobert , and nephew Don Boyd and wife Jan, and numerous great nieces and great nephews. picture
