Welcome to the Palmer Family

Ann Banfield Lee

St Mylor Church

Ann was my great great grandfather's sister. She adopted my great grandfather (her nephew), Benjamin, when his father died about 1853.

Ann was baptised on 24 April 1818 in Flushing, Mylor, Cornwall. Her parents were George Lee (or Ley), and Jemima Hall. She married Edward Maddock, an Irish sailor, in the church at Mylor (pictured left) on 02 March 1837, a month before her twentieth birthday.

She appears to have relocated to Ireland after her marriage, and settled in Dublin. Ann died in Dublin in 1889.

Ann's middle name, Banfield, is unusual. Her sister's middle name was Hall, a reflection of her mother's maiden name. Ann's middle name, Banfield, was the maiden name of her grandmother on her mother's side.
