1993 IGI also has listing of birth in Sunderland, Franklin Co., Ma. According to Windsor Smith he was a Col of the Hampshire City Militia of the Home Guards. According to "History of Whately" by JH Temple he was a Selectman From the incorporation of Whately from 1783-89 & 1791-93. He also was Town Clerk in 1787-88 & Representative to the General Court in 1787-88. In 1788 he was a Delegate to the convention to ratify the Federal Constitution. In the Spring of 1775 he lived in the house on Spring Hill his father owned. DAR Lineage Book 1897 V19 pg 8 Rec# 18017 inicates he served as Col of Home Guard of Hampshire Cty and lived in Whateley.
