In the 1830 census he is listed as William W. Allis. Later he shows up in 1850 & 1860 Jefferson Co. NY Census. It indicates he was a farmer from Massachusettes. According to "Council of Appointments - 1784-1821 Military Records Vol II a William Allis from Lewis Co. resigned as a Lieuteneant in Light Infantry - Vice Reed -in 1821 This is again mention in Military Records of NY State 1734-1821 pg2262. According to "Gazateer of Jefferson Co. 1685-1890" (on file) pg 633 he located in Phi
ladelphia in 1840 on the old Bones Homestead (later daughter lived there). According to this reference he was born in Halifax Ma. and relocated while still young to Lowville. According to Federal Land Series V2 1799-1835 (343.73 S) a 200 acre l
