Greene M Bentley, son of Greene M Bentley and Dianna Strait , was born January 08,1778 in Litchfield, Litchfield, Connecticut. He married Olive Hopper abt. 1797 in prob Orange Co, Ny. He died November 11, 1820 in Millport, Tioga County, New York. Olive Hopper, daughter of Cornelius Hopper and Hannah Rockwell , was born July 25, 1782 in Orange Co, Ny. She died 1842 in Millsport, Ny.

Not a great deal is known of Green Jr, in "The Report of the
State Historian", he is listed in Tioga Co, 79th Reg, in 1812 as
"Green Bentley, junior, ensign"; in 1818 as a lieutenant in the
79th Reg of infantry; in 1820 he has been promoted to captain in
the same unit. (We know he was alive at the time of the 1820
census performed Aug-Oct). the entry for 1822 is "...
