Fred ROTH OBIT

Funeral services were conducted at Linsey Memorial Presbyterian Church Monday afternoon, March 7, 1960, for Fred ROTH, 70, who died early Wednesday morning of last week at St. Anthony's Hospital. Rev. Ernest SMITH was in chrage of services. ZEIGLER Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.

Military rites were also conducted at the cemetery by members of American Legion Post No. 240. Burial was at the Martin Community Cemetery.

Fred ROTH, the son of Jonas and Virginia EUBANK_ROTH, was born at Comstock, NE., on July 21, 1889 and passed away at Martin March 2, 1960, at the age of 70 years, 7 months and 10 days.

Except for a short time in MO., most of his early life was spent on a farm near Comstock. On Oct. 9, 1912, he was united in marriage at Ord, NE. with Meda ELLIOTT of Comstock. He was a veteran of WWI, being drafted for military service in 1918. Following his discharge in 1919, he lived for a short time in Comstock and Broken Bow, NE.

He and his family moved to South Dakota in 1928, farming near Batesland.

He moved to Martin in 1956. He was a member of the Christian Church near Comstock and of the American Legion, Bennett Co. Post #240. He was greatly interested in the work of the Legion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Clifford Ivan, Richard Edgar, William Bradley and 2 sisters, Nellie & Halycon.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Meda ROTH; four children, six grand children and a host of other relatives and friends.
