MEDA_VIRGINIA_ELLIOTT_ROTH OBIT

Gravesite rites were conducted at Martin Community Cemetery at 10 a.m. Monday, July 15, (1986) for Meda Virginia ROTH, 88, who died Thursday, July 11 at Bennett County Community Hospital. She had been a resident of the Bennett County Nursing Home for the past year.

Rev. Alfred GERHARDT conducted the rites. ZIEGLER Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Meda Virginia ELLIOTT was born August 3, 1896 at Boscobel, Wis. A daughter of Delbert & Bertha CARLTON_ELLIOTT.

She was married October 9, 1912, at Ord NE. to Fred ROTH. They made their home in Nebraska until 1928 when they moved to a farm near Batesland (SD.) They made their home on the farm until 1966 when they moved to Martin.

Fred died March 2, 1956, following which Meda continued to make her home in Martin.

She worked for many years as a cook at Central School and also worked at K & M Jack & Jill Super Market.

Meda was active in American Legion Auxillary and also participated in bowling with the senior group.

She became ill about 1979 or 1980 after which she made her home with her daughter, Margaret (Private) at St. Michael, Minn. Meda came back to Martin to the Bennett County Nursing Home July 15, 1984.

Survivors include two daughters, two sons, seven grandchildren & 11 great grandchildren.
