Virginia EUBANK, Obit.

The following was taken from the Comstock News, Comstock, Custer Co. NE.


Virginia EUBANK was born at Covington, Kenton Co. KY., Jan. 10, 1851. At the age of 16, she moved with her parents to Paris, IL. Where she grew int womanhood. In 1874, she was united in marriage to Jonas Spatch ROTH and to their union were born eight children, four boys and four girls as follows: Clifford Ivan, Richard Edgar, William Bradley and Fred of Comtock, NE., Mrs. Dora (Alice) ROTH-WALTON and Mrs. Mary Esther ROTH-MATTOX of Sargent, NE., Mrs. Nellie ROTH-ANDERSON of Walworth, NE. and Mrs. Halycon ROTH-BENNET of Gering, NE.


Early in life, she confessed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ becoming a member of the Church of Christ which faith she held all her life.


She died Nov. 9, 1920 after about two weeks of sickness, at her home in Comstock. Age 69 years, 9 months and 29 days.


Besides her immediate family of husband and eight children, she leaves a number of grandchilren, three sisters, one brother, other relatives and friends. Her brother, Edwin Dozier EUBANK, of Brokwn Bow, Custer Co. NE. is one of the pioneer preachers of this county (Comstock). He was the leading spirit in founding the Coburg Church.


The funeral was preached in the Comstock Community Church by J.S. REEL, pastor of the Christian Church of Sargent, assisted by J. W. FOSTER, pastor of the Comstock Church. The internment was made in the Westcott Cemetery (the name of the Westcott Cemetery was changed to The Douglas Grove Cemetery before 1932, when her husband Jonas was interred there)
