In the name of God Amen. This 19th day of October in the year of our Lord 1782, I Mathias Ambrose, Sen. of Frederick County and State of Maryland, Yeoman, being in good health and body and of perfect mind and memory Thanks be given unto God, therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die, do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament. That is to say principally and first of all I recommend my soul into the hands of Almighty God that gave it and for my body I recommend to the earth to be buried in a christian like and decent manner at the discretion of my executors. Nothing doubting at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God. And as touching such world estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I give devise and dispose of the same in the following manner-- It is my will and I do order that in the first place all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfied.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto the Church at Peter Apples called Jacobs Church the sum of three pounds.
ITEM I give and bequeath unto John Weller Sen. the remainder of my estate both real and personal to him, his heirs and assigns forever.
ITEM My will and desire is that none of my children except Catherine Weller shall have or claim any right to my present estate that I now have in hand having given them their full share and put it into their hands for this many years past.
ITEM I constitute make and ordain my good and trusted friend John Weller, executor of this my last will and testament and do hereby disallow revoke and dis-anul all and every other former testament will legacies and executors by me in any ways before this time named, willed and bequeathed.
Ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this day and year first within written.
