Irons, Bill L.

Bill L. Irons, 71, of Hot Springs died Saturday, October 23, 1999, in a local hospital.
Born October 5, 1928, in Denver, he served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, worked at Allen Tillery Chevrolet as a mechanic from 1952 to 1974 and started working at Entergy May 20, 1974, until retirement on June 1, 1991, as a hydraulic mechanic, and was a member of Rector Heights Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his parents, James A. and Elga Tillman Irons.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Irons of Hot Springs; a brother, Arthur Wayne Irons of Hot Springs; two sisters, Beverly Oliver of Carpenteria, California, and June Walters of Hot Springs; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home chapel with the Revs. Dwayne Monk and Tim Carpenter officiating.
Pallbearers will be Larry Harvey, Larry Irons, Tim Irons, Jeff Lowder, Eddie Robertson, Eddie Rowe, Dale Vaughn and Herman Walters.
Honorary pallbearers are Allen Tillery, employees of Entergy, Warren Brown, Dick Ford, Donald Smith, Dr. Martin Koehn, Dr. John Simpson, Dr. Kim Agee, Dr. Jerry Barnes, Dr. Robert Johnson, Dr. John Brunner, St. Joseph's Regional Health Center employees of 3 West, 4 West and 5 West, Ersel Oliver, Jimmy Oliver and Reyes Gonzalez.
Burial with full military honors provided by Thaddeus H. Caraway VFW Post 2278 will be in Memorial Gardens. (from the Sentinel-Record)
