20 Dec 1848 Greenock Building.

11 Apr 1851 departed from Devonport to Woolwich, where her capabilities are to be further tested.

20 Apr 1851 Woolwich. Warped into the basin to have her old engines removed and others of less power substituted: described as an iron screw frigate.
