1 Aug 1914 coaled at Zanzibar. At Dar-es-Salaam destroying the wireless telegraphy station etc., and she and with the Pegasus searching for the Konigsberg.

20 Sep 1914 sunk by gunfire from German cruiser Konigsberg in Indian Ocean, off Zanzibar. 31 casualties.

20 Jun 1919 The seaplanes which had previously joined us were also active and helped us with their bombing and spotting. It was a good dress-rehearsal for more serious work to come - see p. 139->.

27 Sep 1919 departed Archangel for England following the conclusion of the Archangel River Expeditionary Force.
