Order in Council 19 Jul 1862 Whereas by the Naval Pay and Prize Act, 1854, it was enacted that the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty might from time to time make such regulations as might to them appear expedient for facilitating the Pay of the Navy and for other purposes, provided that such regulations should not have any force or effect until they had been approved by Your Majesty in Council: And whereas by Your Majesty's Order in Council, dated the 11th of August, 1854, certain regulations for facilitating the pay of the Navy which had been submitted to Your Majesty by the Lords Commissioners of the Admiralty were approved by Your Majesty in Council, and whereas we are now humbly of opinion that it would be expedient that part of the regulations approved by the said Order should be repealed, we therefore most humbly submit that so much of the said Order in Council of the 11th of August, 1854, should be repealed, as directs that it is expedient that the Accountant-General of Your Majesty's Navy should possess all the powers and perform all the functions of Inspector of Seamen's Wills, and that all documents theretofore signed by the Officer so designated, should in future be signed by the Accountant-General of the Navy, or by some person acting in his behalf. ^ back to top ^ |
