Greenwich Hospital Proportion of Freightage for the Conveyance of Treasure in H.M. Ships


  1. The returns of Freightage, hitherto sent by the Commanding Officers of H.M. Ships to Greenwich Hospital, are to be forwarded to the Accountant-General of the Navy instead of to the Treasurer of Greenwich Hospital, as directed by the Proclamation, dated 12th July 1819.
  2. The half-yearly returns from the Commanders-in-Chief are to be sent, as heretofore, to the Secretary of the Admiralty, to be forwarded to the Accountant-General of the Navy.
  3. The Commanding Officers of H.M. Ships upon the receipt of the Freightage on the Treasure conveyed, are to pay the proportion due to Greenwich Hospital to the Paymasters of their respective ships, who are to debit themselves in their Public Cash Accounts under the head of " Freightage on Treasure due to Greenwich Hospital " treating the same as part of their public cash, available for their contingent payments and transmitting vouchers with their cash accounts, descriptive of the sums received, in order that these transactions may be duly examined in the Department of the Accountant-General, and the amounts paid over to the credit of the " Greenwich Hospital Income Account "
  4. The Correspondence on the subject of "Freightage due to Greenwich Hospital" should be addressed-to the Accountant-General of the Navy.
