Admiralty, 21 April 1856.

The undermentioned increase in Full Pay of Masters of the 3rd and 4th Classes, has been established by Her Majesty's Order in Council of the 4th of April 1856.

3rd Class

Masters having completed Ten years' service on Full Pay, including not more than Three years' service on Full Pay as Second Master qualified for Master, from �219 a year or 12s. a day, to �287 5s. or 13s. a day.

4th Class

Masters having completed Six years' service on Full Pay, in the rank of Masters, from �200 15s. a year or 11s. a day, to �209 17s. 6d or 11s. 6d. a day.
