GILBERT ABIEL ABBOT PEVEY

Gilbert Abiel Abbot Pevey born 22 Aug 1851 in Lowell, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, was the son of Abiel & Louisa 'Stone' Pevey. Gilbert graduated from Harvard in 1873 and won several scholarship prizes. He went into partnership with the Hon. Theodore H. Sweetser where he had studied law in his office. Gilbert remained with him until his death. Gilbert then became associated with Colonel John H. George who was the Attorney for the Boston & Lowell Railroad.

Gilbert was elected City Solicitor of Cambridge in 1893. He became a member of the Masonic order, affiliated with the lodge in Cambridge. He was Odd Fellow and was connected with many social clubs. He also was a Republican politically. He was the Assistant District Attorney from 1897 to 1900.
