| Zephaniah Warren was born
near Osage Iron Works in Camden County, Missouri on January 14, 1854 and
he died on March 22, 1936 in Camden County, Missouri.
He married Anna Laura
Moulder on November 3, 1878 in Camden County, Missouri. She was born
October 14, 1858 in Camden County, Missouri and died on November 20, 1932
in Camden County, Missouri. They are buried in the Green Ridge Cemetery in
Camden County, Missouri.
Anna Laura Moulder was a
daughter of Valentine Felta Moulder and Elizabeth Williams. Zephaniah
Warren and Anna Laura Moulder were step-brother and step-sister when they
were married.
Zephaniah Warren professed a
faith in God in young manhood and united with the old Prairie Hollow
Baptist Church. In later years he transferred his membership to Harmony
Baptist Church at High Point. In 1901 he united with the Free Will Baptist
Church at Green Ridge. He was a charter member of this church and
was elected deacon at the first church meeting. He was re-elected deacon
many times until he was chosen for life. He held this position and
remained a faithful member until death.
He and his family gave much
of their services and contributions to the building and maintenance of
this fine little county church. Zeff united with the Mack Creek A.F. and
A.M. Lodge No. 433 and was made a Master Mason on Dec. 26, 1885. He had
remained a loyal and faithful member for almost 50 years and was the
oldest member of the lodge at the time of his death. He took a great
interest in Free Masonry and lived and practiced its teachings and
principle. He moved to the farm where he died in February and had
continually lived at this home. He lived to see his entire family
reach manhood and womanhood without a death in his home until the death of
his wife. Zeff was a descendant of one of the early pioneer families of
Camden County and his passing is the loss of a old landmark of vicinity.
He was a loving father, a good neighbor and a citizen who will be missed
by his church school and community. He is buried at the Green Ridge
Church. My Mother is buried there too. He was known as Zeff, Uncle Zeph.
He was one of the leading Democrats of Adair Township, and was on that
party ticket for District Judge at one time and ran for ahead of his
ticket. Most of the above statements come from his obituary. To the union
of Zephaniah and Anna Moulder Warren were born 3 girls and 2 boys:
1) Fannie L. Moulder,
Climax Springs, Mo
2) Sarah Elizabeth Parks, Grant, Nebr.
3) Edith V Turner, Grain Valley, Mo
4) Thomas Valentine (Volly) Warren, urban, Mo
5) Orie Lee Warren, Climax Springs, Mo
These children are all dead, but I do not have their
info typed up. Thanks Joe
As noted above most of the statements came from
Zephaniah's
obituary.
