PIERCE, Austin R. - age 58, of 901 West Woodland Ave., passed away 8:00 a.m. Friday at Fort Sanders Hospital. Survivors: wife, Mrs. Mossie Pierce; daughter, Mrs. Pauline Rhodes, Louisana; sons, James Arnwine, Knoxville; Stephen Pierce, Knoxville; Delano Pierce, Florida; Richard A. Pierce, Korea; sisters, Mrs. Sadie Herron, Mrs. Susan Ford, Knoxville; Mrs. Annie Wyrick, Mrs. Frances Wyrick, Luttrell; Mrs. Sarah Barker, Oklahoma; brother, Rev. George Pierce, Speedwell; 16 grandchildren. Services 11 a.m. Tuesday at Rose Chapel, Rev. Bill Romines, Rev. Esco Green officiating. Interment Taylor Cemetery. Pallbearers: Jimmy Crawford, Gary Green, Michael Lee, Ricky Braden, Leonard McFalls, Carl Warwick. Rose Mortuary in charge.

PIERCE, MOSSIE BEELER -- age 80, formerly of 901 W. Woodland Avenue, passed away early Sunday at UT Hospital. She was a member of Glen Oaks Baptist Church. Survivors: children, James Lawrence Arnwine, Pauline Rhodes, Richard Austin Pierce, John Pierce, Stephen Anthony Pierce; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Florence Broyles, Lillie Mae Groseclose, Hazel Burns, Ruth States; brothers, J. Will and Layton Beeler. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rose Chapel, Rev. Bill Romines officiating. Interment New Gray Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at Rose Mortuary.
