(William H. Scales was born in TN, educated at Centenary College in LA, & came to Dallas in 1867. He was President of the Dallas Female Institute, later called the Dallas Female College, where he remained until his death. He was an ordained minister in the Methodist Church & often conducted services for that denomination. He was elected City Alderman on 4/4/1873 to fill out an unexpired term. No Stone Found.)
