(Dr. Samuel Field, Martha's son, was a prominent physician in Dallas for many years. He served in the Confederate Army with the GA Volunteers. He married first Vienna Johnson in Dallas, and second, Margaret Parker of McKinney . He left the City Health Dept in 1887 to be a physician for the Gould Railroad interests. He was a State Health Inspector at Beaumont during a Yellow Fever epidemic, practiced awhile in Houston & then returned to Dallas shortly before his death.)
