Death of Edson Poapst. Final tribute to the memory of Edson Poapst, of the Eighth Concession of Cornwall Twp.,Stormont Co., was paid on Monday (October 3, 1927), when the funeral conducted by W. Wert of Avonmore, was held from his home. The impressive service was led by Rev. Whitmore of Newington, in North Lunenburg, United Church of which the deceased was a member and elder. Following the service the cortege proceeded to the Waterton Cemetery where burial was made in the family plot. The service there was conducted by the Loyal Orange Lodge No. 948 of Newington, Rev. Metcalf, Chaplain. The deceased leaves to mourn his loss his wife, (nee Mary Eaman), two daughters, Mrs. J. A. MacMillan of Newington; Mrs. Archie Morrison of Wales; Lloyd Earle and Garnet Clair on the home place; two brothers, Osborne of Winnipeg, and Howard of Cornwall Centre; three sisters, Mrs. T. J. Grant of Hubbard, Minn; Lydia of Long Beach, California; and Mrs. A. J. Shaver of Finch.
Tokens of sympathy were received from L.O.L. 948, Newington. Elders of North Lunenburg Church; W.C.T.U. of Northfield Station, and relatives, friends and acquaintances.

Garnet Clare Poapst of Parisien Manor died May 17, 1990 at Cornwall General Hospital. He was 87.
Mr. Poapst was born in Cornwall Twp., and was a farmer and a carpenter and member of Knox United Church.
Suvived by one son, Garnet Poapst of Martintown; one daughter, Margaret (Mrs. Arnold French) of Mirrow, Alberta; one brother, Lloyd Poapst of Merrickville, Ontario; one sister, Beryl Morrison of Ingleside; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by his wife, Clare Manson, and by his first wife Mabel Phillips; his parents, Edson Poapst and Mary Eamon; and by one sister, Ada MacMillan of Cornwall.
The service was held May 21, 1990 from the chapel of McArthur Bros., & MacNeil Funeral Home and Waterton Cemetery, Lunenburg, Ontario. Rev. Robert Pentinga of Knox St. Paul's United Church officiated.
Pallbearers were Brian Poapst, Garby Poapst, Wayne Poapst, Allan Alguire, Bill Hope.

Mrs. Clara Poapst of 3131 Duval St., Cornwall, died August 1, 1980 at the Cornwall General Hospital. Born December 2, 1908 at the former Village of Mille Roches, she was the Daughter of the late Gerard Manson and the late Ida May Tyo.
She is survived by her husband, G. Clare Poapst; two brothers and two sisters: Morris of Thorold, Gordon of Cornwall Centre, Hilda (Mrs. George Warner) of Cornwall and Gladys (Mrs. John McLaughlin) of Chesterville.
