Lyons Cemetery
Camden, Texas
By Norma McLoughlin, Feb. 2004

Located on Hwy. 62 (between Moscow and Camden)---only access through a locked gate
with a no trespassing sign.  The cemetery is about one-half mile down a dirt road---near an
abandoned house place.  There is no fence, and only a small green metal sign---reading “cemetery.”
The graves are along the edge of a deep gulley, scattered under tall pine trees--among the under-
growth of yaupon and weeds.  A lovely, peaceful setting that bears no resemblance to a traditional
cemetery.

The only tombstones are:

Horn, Agnes - born: 1880, died: May 23, 1929
Horn, Jessie - born: 1861, died: 1935
Horn, Jessie L. Jr. - born: Jan. 19, 1910, died: Nov. 17, 1989
Lyons, Dea - born: June 15, 1878, died: Oct. 11, 1969
Lyons, Georgie Ann - born: 1862, died: July 27, 1954
Lyons, Wade - No dates readable.

A large broken concrete slab is at one grave, with no markings.
Evidence of other graves without markings, also a rusted funeral home marker reading only: 1925-1927.
