C. C. Gulley
    "Mr. Gulley was born in Alabama June 13, 1875.  He was brought by his parents to Texas in 1883; the family settling near Hortense. He was married in 1898 to Miss Ada Parrish. He united with the church in 1902. He had ere long achieved for himself  a place to leadership in that communtiy and was a leading member of the Baptist church there.
    "His health failing, he disposed of his home at Hortense several years ago and moved to Lufkin, and from there to San Angelo.
    "About two weeks before death he was stricken with the flu and his sufferings were intense until the end came.
    "The remains of Mr.Gulley were brought to Leggett or Saturday, Feb. 21st, and carried thence to the Feagin Cemetery near Hortense, where they were laid to rest. Rev W. B. Wadsworth, and old-time friend and former pastor conducted the services.
    "Mr. Gulley is survived by his beloved wife, father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Gulley of Lufkin, and the following brothers and sisters: Joe Gulley of Hortense; Alonzo Gulley of New Willard; Mrs. Carrie McKee of Houston; Mrs. Albert Harrison of Lufkin; Mrs. J. T. McKee of Livingston; Mrs. Grover Clark of Leggett; Mrs. Bun Taylor of Leggett, and Mrs. Sam Cook of New Willard.   All of these with many other relatives and friends attended the funeral services."
