Charles D. Carroll Died At Big Sandy May 13, Aged 60

   "Mr. Charles D. Carroll, aged 60, died at his home at Big Sandy, Friday morning, May 13, 1949, at 9:30 o'clock.  He had been in ill health for some time.  Mr. Carroll was born in Texas, December 28, 1888, and for many years resided in the Big Sandy and Camp Seale communities where he engaged in farming.  He was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
    "Funeral services were held at the Big Sandy Church, Saturday afternoon, May 14th at 2:00 o'clock, with Bro. Bob DeShazo of Leggett officiating, assisted by Bro Mills of Honey Island.
    "Pallbearers were: Bill Mathis, J.V. Lapham, W.E. Hendrix, Raymond Knight, Tom Moye, and L.D. Hendrix.
    "Interment was in Big Sandy Cemetery.
    "Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Sylester Collins Carroll; five sons: Lavil of Beaumont, Harris and Claude of Honey Island, Carl of Vidor, and Lamar of Big Sandy; three daughters: Mrs Louise Premeaux and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Ladd of Beaumont, and Mrs. Lucille Mills of Vidor; one brother: J.B. Carroll of Segno; two sisters: Mrs. Betty Gassiot of Houston and Mrs. Cecil Knight of Segno.
    "Arrangements were under the direction of the Pace Funeral Home of Livingston."
