"Funeral services for Earl Cochran, 29, who was killed late Monday in an automobile accident near Arkadelphia, Arkansas were held Wednesday afternoon at the Baptist Church, Rev. R. A. Clifton officiating.  Interment was in Forest Hill Cemetery.
     Pallbearers were Sam Maroney Jr., S. M. Pitts, Hubert Collins, J. E. Norwood Jr. and Talamage Behannon of Lufkin and J. W. Mitchell of Camilla.
    In company with his brother, Louis, and a friend, Mr. Cochran was on his way home from Hot Springs.  It was said that when the party was about 15 miles from Arkadelphia the car struck a rock in such a way as to cause it to skid suddenly to the side, the becoming overbalanced it turned over.
     Pinned between the steering wheel and the body of the automobile, Earl was crushed, and lived for only a short time.  Neither of the other two men were seriously hurt.
     The body arrived on the north bound train at 11:30 Wednesday and was taken to the home of Mrs. Ella Gerlach, an aunt, where it remained in state until the hour of the funeral.
     Robert Earl Cochran was born in Livingston September 17,1901.  He attended public school here and later was a student at San Marcus academy.  From there he wnt to Rusk College where he finished his education.  He was formerly agent in Polk County for the Texas Company, going from here to Camden, Arkansas and then to Arkadelphia at both of which places he had charge of the Texas Company agency.
     Survivors are his father, N. J. Cochran, two brothers, Jack and Lousi and a foster sister, Mrs. J. M. Shepherd of Galveston, formerly Mess Rosalie Smith."
